Car-Themed Sneakers: Retro Porsche 911 S/T Puma
【Summary】Porsche celebrates the 60th anniversary of the 911 sports car with new sneaker designs inspired by the 911 S/T and the original 911 S. The 911 S/T boasts a lightweight design and uses the flat-six engine from the 911 GT3 RS. The classic Puma Retro Sneaker pays homage to the 911 S 2.5 with its light blue color, retro design elements, and Gulf Oil livery look.
Porsche is celebrating not only its 75th anniversary as a brand but also the 60th anniversary of the iconic 911 sports car. To mark this milestone, the German marque has introduced the Porsche 911 S/T and released two sneaker designs.
The Porsche 911 S/T is a lightweight car that takes inspiration from the 1972 911 S. It features a naturally-aspirated flat-six engine from the 911 GT3 RS, paired with a manual gearbox and a single-mass flywheel. This combination results in an exhilarating driving experience.
In addition to the 911 S/T, Porsche Design has launched the classic Puma Retro Sneaker to pay homage to the oldie but goodie 911 S 2.5. The sneaker is colored in the same light blue exterior as the original car and features a retro-grille-bad hangtag design. The number 56, which is seen on the heel, represents the Porsche 911 that went GT racing in 1972. Although it didn't officially carry the S/T name at the time, it was the first to utilize "S" special racing components. The red-orange laces add a touch of the iconic Gulf Oil livery.
