Chinese firm reveals Tesla Cybertruck clone

Chinese electric-car start-up Xpeng is set to make waves in the industry with its latest concept vehicle. The company has revealed a six-wheel SUV that bears a striking resemblance to Tesla's Cybertruck. However, Xpeng's vehicle takes things a step further by incorporating a feature that allows it to launch a 'flying car' from its rear compartment.

The Land Aircraft Carrier, as it is called, is specifically designed for emergency service providers who operate in challenging terrains, such as mountain rescues. While its design draws heavily from the Cybertruck, Xpeng ensures that it is not a direct copy. The SUV features flat sides, angular panels, and an unpainted steel finish that mimic the Cybertruck's aesthetic.

Unlike the fully electric Cybertruck, Xpeng's Land Aircraft Carrier is a hybrid vehicle. This means that it relies on a petrol engine in addition to its electric capabilities, making it more suitable for dangerous conditions.

One of the standout features of the Land Aircraft Carrier is its rear hatch, which opens up to reveal a storage compartment for a helicopter-style 'flying car'. This two-person aircraft can be deployed from the cargo area, offering an innovative solution for emergency situations.

While currently just a concept, the Land Aircraft Carrier could potentially join Xpeng's growing lineup of vehicles available in China. The company already has four other electric cars in development and has even partnered with German car giant Volkswagen to co-develop models for the Chinese market.
