Cool electric trike

Electric trikes have never been considered the epitome of coolness, but the Lámpago e-trike is changing that perception. This Turkish manufacturer has given the trike a top speed of 28 mph (45 km/h), which is quite impressive.

However, delta trikes, which have two wheels in the rear, are not known for their stability in turns. Therefore, a lower top speed is probably a good decision.

Adding a rear seat for a pillion rider would only make matters worse in hairpin turns, as the center of gravity increases along with the weight of a passenger.

Despite its speed capabilities, the Lámpago is being marketed more as a mobility device than a thrilling ride. In fact, it doesn't even require a motorcycle license in the European market it is intended for. Riders can operate the Lámpago with just an AM license, which is meant for two-wheelers and three-wheelers with engines of 50cc or smaller.

The design of the Lámpago is quite eye-catching. From the small left-side door to the Vespa-inspired styling, the Chesterfield leather chair upholstery, and the vintage two-tone color scheme, it exudes charm.

Additional vintage accents, such as a rear storage bag and spare wheel cover, further enhance the appeal of this little electric scooter.

However, the Lámpago's drivetrain is rather underpowered. It features a 60V and 30Ah Li-ion battery pack with just 1.8 kWh of capacity, which is about half of what a typical urban electric scooter offers. The 1,000W electric motor also has less power than many electric bicycles, which may result in less-than-desirable acceleration and hill climbing abilities.

Given its lower power design, the Lámpago seems to be positioned more as a replacement for e-bikes or e-scooters. Nonetheless, for those who want to travel around their city in style and have the option to bring a passenger along for the ride, it certainly seems like a lot of fun!
