Cool electric trike

Electric trikes have never been considered particularly cool, but that perception may change with the introduction of the Lámpago e-trike. Manufactured in Turkey, the name Lámpago comes from the Spanish word for Lightning, which is ironic considering its top speed of 28 mph (45 km/h), as pointed out by RideApart.

Delta trikes, which have two wheels in the rear, are not known for their stability in turns. Therefore, the Lámpago's lower top speed is a wise choice. The addition of a rear seat for a passenger would further decrease stability, as the center of gravity would increase.

Despite its appearance, the Lámpago is being marketed more as a mobility device than a thrilling ride. In fact, it does not require a motorcycle license in the European market. Instead, riders can operate it with just an AM license, which is intended for two-wheelers and three-wheelers with engines of 50cc or smaller.

The design of the Lámpago is eye-catching, with features such as a diminutive left-side door, Vespa-inspired styling, Chesterfield leather chair upholstery, and a vintage two-tone color scheme. Vintage accents like a rear storage bag and spare wheel cover further enhance its charm.

However, the Lámpago's drivetrain is underpowered. It is equipped with a 60V and 30Ah Li-ion battery pack, providing only 1.8 kWh of battery capacity, which is about half of what a typical urban electric scooter offers. The tiny 1,000W electric motor has less power than many electric bicycles, resulting in potentially lackluster acceleration and hill climbing capabilities.

Due to its lower power design, the Lámpago is positioned more as a replacement for e-bikes or e-scooters. However, for those who want to stylishly navigate their city and have the option to bring a passenger along for the ride, the Lámpago could still provide a lot of fun.
