Libya's Tripoli: 27 Dead, 100+ Injured

The capital city of Tripoli in Libya experienced violent clashes on Monday night, resulting in the death of 27 individuals and over 100 injuries, according to the Libyan Ministry of Health. The clashes involved the 444 Brigade and the Special Deterrence Force, which erupted following the reported arrest of a powerful commander from the 444 Brigade.
The Medical Emergency Department of the Libyan Ministry of Health has reported that more than 234 families were evacuated from the areas affected by the clashes in Tripoli. Additionally, three emergency field hospitals were set up to provide medical treatment to the wounded.
In an effort to restore peace, the warring factions agreed to a ceasefire on Tuesday, with the intervention of the Prime Minister and elders of Tripoli, as stated by the Interior Ministry. Libyan Prime Minister Abdul-Hamed Dbeibah has issued an order to compensate civilians for any property damage caused by the clashes.
Since the downfall of former leader Muammar Gaddafi in 2011, Libya has been plagued by violence and instability, further exacerbating the challenges faced by its citizens.
