Reviving the Alfa 105-series with the Totem GT Super: A Powerful Supercharged V6 Engine

Classic Alfa Romeos from the 105-series are highly sought after for restomod projects, and Alfaholics has been leading the way with their popular GTA-R model. However, with a nine-year waiting list, there is now an opportunity for a new player in the market. Introducing Totem, an Italian firm that has created their own version of a 105 coupe called the Totem GT. This exciting new model will be making its debut in the UK at Salon Privé later this month.

Originally conceived as an all-electric modernized classic, the Totem GT has evolved to include a petrol-powered V6 model. Despite the change in powertrain, the design language and chassis remain consistent. The Totem GT features a bespoke wide-body carbon fiber exterior, with very little carried over from the original car. Totem has taken the bulkhead from an original Alfa GT Junior and combined it with a new carbon fiber chassis, complete with steel subframes at the front and rear. This advanced layout is a significant improvement over the GT Junior's unibody chassis and solid rear axle design.

The V6-powered variant of the Totem GT is known as the Totem GT Super. It boasts a bespoke dry-sump 2.8-liter twin-turbo V6 engine, delivering an impressive 592 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque. The engine revs up to 7500rpm and is paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox mounted at the rear axle. For those seeking even more power, Totem offers a stage 2 performance package. This includes a supercharger and a raised 8500rpm rev limit, resulting in a staggering output of 740 horsepower and 627 lb-ft of torque. While official performance figures have yet to be announced, considering the GT Super's lightweight construction at just 1180kg, it's safe to say that it will be in the realm of supercars.
