Tesla engineers reveal failure to address Autopilot issues after deadly accident.

Tesla engineers have admitted that the company failed to address the limitations in its Autopilot system after a tragic crash in Florida in 2016. The crash resulted in the death of the driver. These revelations have come to light as part of a lawsuit filed by the family of another driver who died in a similar collision in 2019. The lawsuit is now headed to a jury trial.

According to the testimony of multiple engineers, Tesla did not make any changes to its driver-assistance technology to account for crossing traffic in the nearly three years between the two accidents. Both accidents involved Tesla vehicles colliding with the side of trucks.
