Tragic Accident: 10-Year-Old Girl Found Dead at Woking Home

The uncle of 10-year-old Sara Sharif, who was found dead in a house in Woking, has provided a statement to the police in Pakistan. According to Sky News, the uncle, Imran Sharif, stated that Sara "fell down the stairs and broke her neck." However, Imran Sharif is not currently under arrest or facing any charges.

Sara Sharif's father, Urfan Sharif, contacted the police in Surrey at 2.50am on August 10 to report his daughter's death. The authorities have stated that she was discovered in Woking, Surrey. Surrey Police are now seeking to question Urfan Sharif, his partner Beinash Batool, and his brother Faisal Malik in relation to the case. The three individuals are believed to have traveled from the UK to Islamabad with their five children, aged between one and 13, just before Sara's death.

According to Sky News, Imran Sharif informed the police in Jhelum, Pakistan that he was unaware of his brother's whereabouts. He also claimed that he learned about Sara's fate through international media and that his parents informed him that Urfan came home extremely upset, expressing concerns that someone would take his children away. Imran Sharif alleged that Beinash was at home with the children when Sara fell down the stairs and broke her neck. Beinash then panicked and called Urfan.

A post-mortem examination conducted last week was unable to determine the cause of Sara's death. However, Surrey Detective Superintendent Mark Chapman stated that the police were aware that the girl had suffered multiple and extensive injuries over an extended period of time. Additionally, authorities in Pakistan discovered evidence suggesting that Sara's father had briefly returned to Jhelum before disappearing.

Last week, it was revealed that Sara was known to the local council, with Surrey County Council working diligently with safeguarding partners to gain a comprehensive understanding of the situation. The community expressed shock and sadness following the discovery of the 10-year-old's body. Numerous heartfelt messages were attached to the flowers left outside the house, and one person even left a stuffed unicorn as a tribute.

One note among the flowers read: "Sweet girl, I'm so sorry that your sparkle was put out too soon."
