The Korean car brands, Kia and Hyundai, have been extremely active in recent years, consistently releasing new models. The latest addition to their lineup is the Kia EV5, which was unveiled at the Chengdu motor show in China.

The Kia EV5 is a compact electric SUV with a bold design inspired by the larger seven-seat Kia EV9. It offers practicality while maintaining a sleek appearance, distinguishing it from the EV6.

While Kia has confirmed that the EV5 will be available in the Chinese market by the end of the year, there is no official word on whether it will be offered in the UK. However, considering the popularity of Kia's mid-sized petrol-powered Sportage model in the UK, it would be surprising if the EV5 is not made available there.

The design and interior of the production EV5 closely resemble the EV5 concept car that was showcased earlier this year at the Shanghai Auto Show. It incorporates Kia's 'Opposites United' design language, which can also be seen in the EV9 and the latest Kia Picanto facelift. The front of the EV5 features a distinctive 'Tiger Face' grille design created by a series of LED daytime running light elements.
